Envelope Gift Bags

These cute little gift bags were created using envelopes. I bought a box of wedding invitations on clearance and have had them for ever. When I saw this project I was so excited!

The size of the gift bag depends on the size of the envelope you use. The Tall bag was done with the large wedding invitations that were 8 3/4 X 5 3/4. The medium size was made with the same envelope, except I cut more off the top when I made the opening. The smaller one was made with an envelope that was 4 1/2 X 5 3/4 .

Take your envelope and seal it shut. Turn it sidways like in this photo and cut accross the top. Then I used Martha Stewart Score board and start at the top (which was the side of the envelope). From the opening at the top to the bottom you will sore at 3/4 inches, turn envelope and score the bottom 3/4 inches, turn once more and score 3/4 inches. Then stick your hand down inside and push the bottom up towards the bag and on each end you will have a point. Squeeze the points flat and fold down and glue to bottom of bag. Now decorate, punch hole at top and add tage and ribbon. Once you have done one it is easy ans pie.
