"Craft & Crop" at the Bird House for July 2017 Projects

Here we go with another fun event. Our theme for July will be Summer Snapshot. Our pages are so cute.
I used a few Cricut Cartridges for these pages. Life is a Beach for the Flip Flops and I added some rhinestones to them to give them a little Bling! Plantin Schoolbook for the font. Mickey and Friends for the Film for photos. The cute design at the bottom I got from Paper Lace 2. The little embellishment on the bottom right, I used a circle punch and scraps from other cuts.

I loved making these little Flip Flops

The wavy water designed paper was cut with Paper Lace 2, the picture frames came from Mickey and Friends. The embellishment on the top right side came from a circle punch and scraps from other cuts. I used some pretty ribbon on the picture frame tags and added a rhinestone to each of them.

The design holding the surf boards came from Paper Lace 2. The surf boards came from Life's a Beach and I used the scraps to decorate every other surf boards. The word Smile came form "Going Places".  It was fun going using "Cricut Cheet Sheet" to find all the cuts I wanted to use to do these pages.

Next, here is the card we will be creating. This is called a Peak a boo shutter card. I changed it up a little to make it easier to open and close.
I love this quote. I used my Cricut to make the scallop embellishment and added some rhinestones, also I chalked the edges of everything.
When you open this shutter card the little round window begins to open revealing the picture. When you close it, it is hidden again. I made a place inside that you can sign. Printed Thinking of you with my computer and cut it out and chalked it. I used my new We Are Memory Keeper Stub punch. I love it!

Here you can see the window open all the way. This was so much fun making, I know you will love it too.

OK here is the craft we will be making. I stayed with the Summer theme when  I created this.
I have been looking at all the different wreaths made with flip flops and I really was not excited about them. They are so huge and bulky. So I finally found one that was similar to this. I toned it down and added some cute embellishments I created with my Cricut. When I was a Girl Scout leader we ripped strips of fabric and tied them to the straps and I did the same with ribbons to embellish the first flip flop. Then I found a scripture I liked and printed it with my computer and framed it a couple of times. I did the same thing with the phase for the second flip flop and then added the sun glasses and pink flamingo. I made a couple of layered flowers and added rhinestones to them I made another layered phase for the third flip flop and then for the last one I made this Sun cut the shadow in black then the main sun cut in yellow and then cut circles of yellow and put a foam square to pop it out for that 3-D look. Then I cut a sweet green salamander. I chalked most of the items and added googly eyes to the flamingo and salamander. All of this was hot glued to a doubled 12 X 3 1/2 inch strip of cardboard you could use wood or chipboard. and I used a large brad to go through that all and the ribbon that I used to make the hanger. It is hanging on my dirty front door, but it looks so good!

Well there you are. Hope to see you come Saturday July 15th!
Don't forget to text to reserve your seat.
