Projects for November "Craft & Crop" at the Bird House

This is the first craft we will be doing for our Nov. Event. It is a two ring photo album for the holidays. This is the cover. It is 10"X 8". I started with the cover base made out of covers from paper packs, then I covered that with decorative card stock to make it thick and sturdy. I found this card stock with the tree of words at Tuesday Morning. I love to check them out and see what new stuff they have. I then cut words from some old Christmas paper that I have had for a few years. I framed the word and put them on the cover.
This is the first page. I made the these three pages 6"X6" decorative card stock and then decorated them. I cut a 5" X 4" white card stock for the photo, then framed it with 5 1/4" X 4 1/4". I used my old red Sizzix and cut the candy cane used foam squares to help hold in what ever picture you want to use, then I cut this cute snowman and package from a box of Christmas card I purchase on clearance from Walmart two years ago. I used foam squares to also help hold the picture from the other side and I cut this little present from the same card and used it to help hold in the card, this card can be taken out and placed back in. I placed a cute little tab cut from my Cricut Cartridge "From My Kitchen"
This is the second of the three tabbed pages, I made a red rectangle out of patterned paper and framed it, then cut the tree and bow with my old Sizzix and frizzy cut the word JOY from scraps of card stock that I am using for this project. I used foam squares to raise the rectangle so that a photo can slip in and out from behind it. Then using scraps I made a tab for this page.
This is the third of 3 tabbed pages. I had this lovely Martha Stewart Christmas card stock from last year with pretty presents all over it. I used it for the base page and then cut an L shape with another scape from this pack, using my corner punch I then raised it with foam squares so that a photo can go in and out behind it. I also cut a snowflake with my Old Sizzix out of white glitter card stock and used a foam square to at it to the corner helping to hold the photo in place. The word WARM came from a DCWV Christmas card stock pack and framed it with white, red, and green and attached it.
I cut this scalloped tag with my old Sizzix and printed some pages with lines and cut to fit inside it for journaling then I added snowflakes framed with white, red that I cut from the DCWV card stock pack.
Under that tag is this page, I took a 12X12 piece of patterned card stock and folded it in half. Then I cut 2" off the bottom (save this  piece). I printed this wonderful quote and framed it with green and then a patterned scrap of card stock I am using for this project. I then cut a piece of red card stock 11" and folded it in half longways, and cut three pieces of white card stock at 5"X 4" and used my corner punch and then layered one here and two inside under the flap. I cut a strip of red card stock at 1 1/2" and took my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch and then layered the two.
You can see here where I added the white card stock for your photos.

When I folded the 12X12 and cut off the 2" I then glued the top and bottom leaving the side open to make a large pocket you can stick stuff in.
I added another tag for journaling, this one is 3"X6" and I found this paper in some stock I had and cut it to fit in the center and then from that same page in the DCWV Christmas pack, I framed the word MEMORIES with white, red and green and added it to the top of my tag.

Under the tag is the next page and It is a glistning red card stock that I found at Ruby Tuesday. I cut my pages 9 1/2" X 7 1/2 ". I cut a 5x4 white rectangle of white card stock and then made another 1/4 inch larger out of patterned paper and then another one out of brown. I attached it towards the top. I then cut a tag from card stock with my old Sizzix and printed this quote and cut it to fit in the center of the tag. I use my Sizzix also for the Christmas ornaments that I cut from scraps that I am using for this project.  Oh, I also cut the stocking from scraps using my old Sizzix. I love that old machine! One of the stockings has foam squares to push it up and leave room to fit in a photo.
I added another tag for journaling.

For my next page, I used the folded strip that I saved and cut another strip out of a different patterned card stock at 2 1/2"X12" and folded it over the left side of the folded piece I saved. I then only glued the left side together in order to fit a photo in there. I used another box of Christmas cards to fuzzy cut The presents and glued that to the bottom strip. I cut the Season's Greetings from the card and framed that and attached it to the top.
Under that is another tag for Journaling. I added some holly leaves cut from on old Sizzix and two large rhinestone stickers.
Under the tag is anther page same size as the one before (9 1/2" X 7 1/2") I used part of the card that had this cute little window and glued it leaving the right side open for a pocket to slip a photo in and out. I used the snowmen from that same card. and the cute little trees in the right lower corner. I added printed from my computer the words, Do you wanna build a snowman? and framed it in green. I cut Winter Wishes from the card and framed it also in green.
You can use this style of album for any theme you wish. It is fun to create. We have a class at Jo-Ann where you can learn how to do this if you need help. Hope you enjoyed it I sure did!

I found this card on Pintrest and fell in love with it. I know that you will too. It is a cute pie shaped card. Perfect for our Nov. Thanksgiving theme.

You will create a hinge and open it from the side. The flowers are 3-D. And I changed the size of the quote on the outside so you can see more of the pie.

There is a scripture on the inside to encourage the person you will want to give this to.

I tried to get a better close up of the flowers it is a little blurry

Here is the fluting on the pie crust. I can't wait to do this card, I Love !

"Craft & Crop" at the Bird House September Craft

Here is the craft we will be creating for our Sept. Event. This is a cute wreath decorated with fabric rosette roses.

Start out by ripping strips of fabric 1 1/2 in X 18", ( 24 of them).

Cut 24 circles of felt. (1 1/2").

Start with one strip of fabric and tie a knot at one end.

Hold the knot and twist the fabric.

As you twist the fabric start rolling the twisted fabric around the knot.

When you come to the end of your fabric. Hot glue the rosette to the 1 1/2 inch circle. Do this with all 24 strips of fabric. Then you can use these rosettes to decorate your wreath or other crafts.
Hope you will try this.  I can't wait to do this with our "Craft & Crop" group. See you there!

"Craft & Crop" September Pages

Here are the Scrapbook Pages for Septembers "Craft & Crop" at the Bird House.
The sunflower was cut from "Walk in My Garden" Cricut cartridge, the scallop rectangle, words Autumn, and leaves were cut from "A Childs' Year" Cricut cartridge. The pumpkin and kitten were cut from "Paper Doll Dress Up" and the word "FUN" came from "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge. Everything else was cut by hand. I used some black Washi tape and a few rhinestones here and there.

I found this cute quote on line there was no auther to give credit. But I loved it.

I added googly eyes and a ribbon around the neck of the kitten

The word Autumn was done twice, one for the letter inside of the scallop oval and another with shadow oval.

The leaves were cut with two different colors of glitter paper and one solid.

FUN was cut in all caps with regular cut and then blue using shadow.

The Sunflower and leave was cut from Walk in My Garden and I added glitter glue in the little holes to give them some bling.

Hope you like what I have done and will enjoy creating this on Sept. 27 at 6:30pm I have one seat left if you would like to join us just contact me Marye Bird at 817-595-5842 and leave a number where I can contact you, or email me at bdmebird@yahoo.com

Here it Is ☺Aug. Craft & Crop Craft Project

Remembering that the Theme chosen by the ladies from our last event was "Texas" I created a Texas Star chip board ring bound album. It turned out so cute. I am not a Texan by birth but I love living here. I did pretty good.

I cut the chip board and pages from my Cricut Cartridge "A Child's Life" it was a marshals badge. I used two sided card stock so both side of my pages would be decorated for me.
Then I centered a flat card that I cut from the same cartridge and centered and layered a white frame to that.
On two pages I put a folded card from the same pattern and cartridge and I was able to add three spaces for pictures instead of just one on this page.
I added two of these to the album for fun.
You can see "top, bottom and center" for three pictures to show.

I added some embellishments that I cut from the same cartridge also. I used some of these larger to embellish the pages I created for you. I added some strips of blue and red bandanna to the rings holding the binding of the album.
In the center of this Marchall's badge were two slits and on the cover of the album I laced a piece of Bandanna and hot glued a gold button. You can take the bare bones of this album and add your own embellishments. It is so cute!
Hope you liked this project. If you would like to join us and make one, I have a couple of seats open, call for reservations. We will meet at my home this Sat.Aug 23 from 6:30 to midnight. Bring a dish, $20 and get ready to have a great time!! Can't wait to see you.
