"Craft & Crop" June Scrapbook Pages

Here are the pages we will be working on. I used "Stand and Salute" Cricut cartridge for the stars, fireworks, word "Freedom" , firecracker and word "USA". The banner came from a new cartridge I just purchased called "Creative Cards", the circle and scallop circle both came from "Holiday Cakes". Every thing else was hand created. Oops, the ribbon I purchased clearance at Jo-Ann's Crafts.

 The stars I cut using various glitter and metallic papers from Jo-Ann's Crafts. On sale!

I used gold shimmer paper to layer the firecracker, silver glitter  paper and a diamond sticker on the large star, and a gold brad on the smaller star.

I found these cute Star brads at Walmart! Did you know that the Walmart here in Hurst has started caring paper and scrapbooking stuff again. It is over in the fabric section. They have some real cute things "CHEAP!!"

I used a hole punch and weaved red ribbon through the banner and used foam stickers here and there throughout the pages.  Hope to see you on June 28.

"Bow Dazzling"

 

I wanted to share a wonderful organization named "Bow Dazzling". This Mom & Daughter created group are a God send to many young ladies going through a difficult journey. It was such a blessing that it has grown and grown. Many people have been touched and have come on board to donate their time money and efforts to keep it going and help all they can. "Bow Dazzling" is a non-profit organization created by Molly and her mom, Tisha. Molly is a cancer survivor, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2009 at the age of 15. After chemo, her hair started to grow back and she was ready to stop wearing wigs and hats. So, she started wearing headbands and bows and loved the compliments she received from friends and family. At visits to the clinic Molly and her Mom realized that other girls would benefit from the confidence boost that a pretty bow on a headband could bring to them. So, at the next visit they brought bows. Now the mother-daughter project has grown into "Bow Dazzling". "Bow Dazzling" Mission Statement: Providing headbands and bows to young girls undergoing treatment for cancer and other serious medical illnesses to give them encouragement and confidence. This group does many events and will come to you with the supplies that are needed to create beautiful bows and headbands. They will teach you to create them and make as many many as you can. Then they take them to the various hospitals and deliver them. I was blessed to meet them when they came to us at Jo-Ann's in Hurst, requesting a place to meet. We are privileged to have them on the first Sunday of each month. They meet back in our classroom from 3pm-6pm. This has been a great experience for me and my granddaughter and a couple of her friends. This is a great way to teach our young people how to give of their time for someone else. Our Girl Scout troop attended for their Special Projects. This fun way for you ladies to get with your groups and friends to do something enjoyable and worth while.  You get free instructions on various bow making techniques. Just bring yourselves and have a great time!

May 24 "Craft & Crop" at the Bird House

Here is the craft we will be creating. It is called "Card in a Box".

 This is what it looks like when it is opened. And below is what it looks like when you calapse it and it will fit in an envelope too!

You can make this card for any occasion, I chose Birthday theme because May 24 is Carmen"s Birthday. So here it is. Hope you liked it. I will give a print out of the directions the night of our event. Hope to see you all there. We have 3 seats open if you now someone who would like to join in on the fun. Don't forget your favorite dishes. I think I will make a cake for Carmen.

May "Craft & Crop" Card Project

OK ladies, here is the cutest card yet. This card was inspired by Bronwyn Eastley from addinktivedesins.blogspot.com. I made them two different ways just by turning the note cards around. Her sample was done with the note card side ways to make the squaty looking Owl. I like that one the best, but some may like the taller owl. So I am showing both. You can make your own choice.

 You can see the difference here, I love the tubby one best.

This cutie is made with 3 Top note card die cuts I found mine on Cricut Cartridge "Storybook" and cut it at 5 3/4 ". The feet and beak are heart shapes that can be found on many cartridges or just make your own pattern. I used Cricut cartridge "Graphically Speaking" for all the rest of these cuts. The beak is 3/4"  heart and the feet are 1 3/4  hearts and you will need 4 of them. The wings are scalloped circles that you can find on many cartridges or use a stencil and cut them at 1 3/4" the tummy is a circle cut 2 1/2 " with patterned paper and the white of the eyes are same circle cut at 1 1/2", the blue part of the eye is 1 1/4" and the black of the eye is  1". If you want the droopy eye look you make a circle 1 1/2 inch out of the body color of your owl and cut it in half. This is so cute. I saw one that she cut in half and attacted them to the front and back of a paper bag that was trimmed down to make a gift bag. I love that idea too.

April "Craft & Crop" at the Bird House Card Project

OK, I have been waiting to make this cute little card. I found it a while back and promised I would create it for our Spring theme craft event. So here you go girls. Your going to love this one.



 

This sweet card is a flip up card, shaped like a pair of overhauls.

 

 

 

 I added this little watering can that I got from "Freshly Picked" Cricut Cartridge and then added a quote and a little flower from "Plantin Schoolbook" Cricut Cartridge.

 I used these rhinestone brads to add some bling to it.

 The cuffs of the overalls are done in a different pattern paper than the coveralls to add some contrast.

 When you flip the card open there is a white section for you to add your message.

The person you gift this card to can display it anywhere and every time they look at it, they will remember how someone thought they were special.

Here is April 26 "Craft & Crop" at the Bird House Craft Project

 

 

 

This is a cute Posted notepad holder. I actually had another project for a magnetic message board, but could not find the instructions. I found it while I was in Houston at the Hospital with my Husband while he was having surgery. But, when I got home I could not find it. So after searching around I found this idea and re-created it with my own desing. My Granddaughter Brooklyn loved it. I will have to make her one.

 

 

 This is created using the essel design. You can prop it up or fold it closed.

I cut this background frame at work using the Spellbinder die cut machine. I love the way it cuts but do not own one. I framed this part of the project and then found this great stamp and framed it too. I used one of my favorite flower patterns from "Plantin Schoolbook" Cricut Cartridge and a couple of glittery green brads to attach the layers of the flowers. I then added some leaves from "Home Decor" Cricut Cartridge. I am pleased with how cute this came out. I know you will love it too.
